This year in the Sodikoff household, we decided it was only right if we spread the Christmas cheer to some local Harrisonburg families in need. To do this, we teamed up with Smore (and maybe Santa) to deliver some Christmas gifts to ten random families from the Harrisonburg area. If you’re interested in teaming up with us to spread holiday cheer next year, fill out the form below and we’ll show you how you can help give back to your Rockingham County neighbors.
At Steven Kia, giving back to our community is a part of our DNA. Part of our initiative in 2024 was to give back to our local community in a fun and relaxing way, so we teamed up with the Harrisonburg Police Foundation to co-host its annual Harrisonburg Police Golf Tournament. The officers refused to let Hurricane Helene deter them, taking to the links at Sportswood Country Club for what we thought was a hit event. Participating officers encountered unique challenges at each hole, including being forced to putt with drunk goggles on or even tee off in full Kevlar vests and ballistic gear. Even with these additional challenges, Harrisonburg PD participants put on a show for the crowd and made it an event to remember!

See moreFinding new ways to support the Harrisonburg community is something we’re always looking for at Steven Kia. This year, we were given the wonderful opportunity to sponsor the 28th annual Harrisonburg-Rockingham African American Festival in Ralph Samson Park. The annual festival includes a variety of vendors, food trucks, craft merchants and performers along with a welcoming family friendly atmosphere. Guest performers at the festival included DJ Smooth, Revive Worship Band and the band Soul Unlimited.
While this was our first time sponsoring the event, we look forward to continuing our work with not only the Harrisonburg-Rockingham African American Festival, but the Harrisonburg community at large.
